• Lt. John Vernou Bouvier, Co. E, 20th NYSM & on staff of Genl. Marsena Patrick, was Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onasis's great grandfather.

  • Pvt. Augustus Cole, Co. F, who died in Ulster Park, on August 6, 1940 was the last Civil War soldier from Ulster County, New York.

  • Pvt. George Showers, Co. K, who died in Hunter, New York, November 18, 1942 was the last Civil War soldier from Greene County, NY. He is believed to be the last soldier of the Ulster Guard.

  • Captain Madison Judson Clement Woodworth is believed to have been the last officer of the 20th.  He died in Fargo, North Dakota, November 16, 1931.  He was a cousin to Seward R. Osborne.

  • Sergeant Lucius and Minard Decker were brothers in the 20th. On July 3, 1863, while in action at Gettysburg, both were killed. Together in death, as in life, they repose side-by-side in the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
