This web site is gratefully
dedicated to the soldiers of the 20th New York State Militia. These
soldiers from Greene and Ulster Counties became intrepid warriors, the
equal of any Federal regiment. Their service record is unblemished and
casualty numbers illustrate distinguished valor. After the war had ended
they continued to serve their country and state.
Many of their fore
fathers served in the Revolutionary War to establish one nation.
Following in their foot steps the Twentieth soldiers fought to uphold
this nation so that we can have the liberties we hold so dear. Because
of their faithfulness to God and Country, today we can pledge our
patriotism to Old Glory and with honor and pride state to the world that
we are in fact "one nation under God".
I have studied a
large number of individual soldiers in the Ulster Guard for 30 years and have discovered that many held a strong belief in God. If
there is any merit in this 20th NYSM web site, I cheerfully and with
love, give it to my Creator, for to God belongs all praise, honor and
glory.
